Since its foundation, Zhongshan Torch Zone has made great endeavor to develop four supporting industries: electronics and information technology, biological pharmacy, chemical industry and modern packaging & printing.

It is a comprehensive health technology base of research and development of new drugs, medical instruments and health products, clinical experiment, production and trade in accordance with the standards of GLP, GCP, GMP and GSP as approved internationally. It covers an area of 13.5 square kilometers, in which the first construction phase in the park covering 1.8 square kilometers has been developed; and the second construction phase covering about 3 square kilometers is under developing. There are more than 60 enterprises settled in the park, including the biggest pharmaceutical trading and distributing center in South China.

The base covers a total area of 7,000 mu, with the first construction phase covering 4,000 mu having been developed. The base focuses on the High-tech industries of Electronics & IT, and photoelectricity technology. There are 30 electronics enterprises in the park, which include Taiwan Acer, Wistron, Browave, Japan Canon, Funai, Sumitomo, Itochu, Kao, and Britain Volex, German Behringer, etc.

23 enterprises have settled down here with a total investment of USD 250 million, including Nimen, U-shin, Toray Sanko Precision, Plast, Yamashita Rubber, Nissin and so on. The main products are as follows: tanks, locks, radiator, brakes, air bags, ABS brake system and other auto parts and components. The industrial output value will reach USD 5 billion when all the products are put into production.
